Local artist Kathy Hughes exhibits her encaustic and mixed media panels through the month of July at Cole Pratt Gallery. Saturated with subdued tones of blue and lavender, the series "The Random Nature of Things" evokes the silence and calm of dawn. Hughes incorporates seemingly "random" elements of the city into her compositions, portraying her ephemeral impressions of New Orleans.
